The Mares

We believe that our mares are a very important part of our
breeding program. We usually wean at about four months, so the
first 4 months of our foals lives are filled with new adventures
each and every day and along with us, the mares really help
guide them through, confidently handling each new experience. By
the time weaning comes along our foals are very confident in
handling many situations, some that even grown horses have not
been exposed to.
For those who follow bloodlines, our mares lines include some
of The Greats right on their papers like Poco Bueno, Colonel
Freckles, Ima Cool Skip, Strategy,Obsesed to Impress, Mr Robin
Boy, Doc Olena, Regal Sun, Top Sail Cody, Barlink Macho Man, A
Summer Breeze, Sockett, The Continental, Grays Starlight, Peppy
San Badger, Doc Bar, Hollywood Jac 86 and Mr Gun Smoke to name
some. Right off their papers we have Skipper W, Sonny Dee Bar,
Triples Image, Smart Little Lena, King, Hollywood Gold, Jesse
James, Dixies War Drum, Two Eyed Jack, Lasso, Grey Badge II,
Bert and more.
We, at PQR, have no specific color preference, we LIKE them
all. We also believe that the paint job on the horse is only as
good as the horse is, therefore we like solids (even in
paints) as much as the painted.
Some of the Great Horses of today came from ranches best work
horses of the past.
